    Daito Manabe

    Artist, programmer and DJ
    Rhizomatiks co-founder (2006) and a specially appointed professor at Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus, Manabe strives to reinterpret and combine phenomena and materials from diverse perspectives. However, rather than pursue expressiveness solely through high resolution and high realism, his works focus on intrinsic interests that he discovers through careful observation of the human body, data, programming, computers and other phenomena, as well as the interrelationships and boundaries of analog/digital and real/virtual.

    Motoi Ishibashi

    Engineer and artist
    Rhizomatiks co-director Ishibashi graduated from the Department of Systems and Control Engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and the International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS). He is involved in a diverse range of projects, including art performances, music videos, and installations centered on the development of devices and other hardware. His works have received many awards, including from Prix Ars Electronica, Cannes Lions, and the Japan Media Arts Festival.

    Shuji Mito

    Video art designer, production designer.
    Born in 1980. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Intermedia Art, Faculty of Fine Arts. He works on spatial design centering on visual arts such as advertisements, movies and music videos.
    His recent works include Gen Hoshino’s MV "Cube", Bialystocks MV "Upon You", ZOZONEXT Concept movie, Secom x Apple watch commercial, and the movie "Kaguya-sama ga Kesshirasai ~Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunou-sen~".

    Makoto Ueda

    Born in 1979 in Kyoto Prefecture. He is the European planning representative and is in charge of writing and directing all the main performances. In 2017, he won the 61st Kunio Kishida Drama Award for the stage play "Kiteketsurube Shinsekai".

    Takayuki Fujimoto/Kinsei R&D

    Involved in stage productions as a member of the Japanese art collective Dumb Type, established Kinsei R&D in 2014 for his own activities.
    Since 2003, in parallel with his Dumb Type activities, he has been presenting stage works and creating art works under his own name, mainly using LED lighting and lighting control using digital technology.
    One of his representative stage works is "true", which he himself was in charge of directing and lighting and created with nine Japanese artists.
    In parallel with his own productions, he is also actively collaborating with domestic and international stage actors.

    An artist who travels between multiple realms, including fine art and commercial art, the digital and the physical, urban youth culture and the natural world.
    He is also an art director and graphic designer with a wide range of clients from European, American luxury brands, musicians and underground clubs to contemporary art fairs.
    At YAR, the creative studio he heads, he handles a vast amount of work in almost all areas of visual arts in commerce, including advertising, logotypes, interior/exterior design and video.
